ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN

\Holy #$!%@#% violence Batman! Yep that’s the buzz with this epic sonic art concert extravaganza. This monster of a show loosely tells of one boy’s journey from serial killer to enlightenment. Sounds unlikely but the show is actually based on what is meant to be a true story –but hey what #$%@^ is true?? anyways?? So apparently there was this guy in ancient Tibet named Milarepa and he got a little too carried away with the sorcery and bumped a whole bunch of people off. He ends up becoming something of a guru though, after somehow finding his way to enlightenment. The guy’s story is a great one for all those people out there who think that enlightenment might be too hard. Unless you’ve been a little to liberal (small ‘l’) with the serial killing then you’ve got a head start on this guy.

Yep, and the whole challenge of the show is to work with this narrative type action in sonically driven ways – and that has led the Click Clack artists on a mind-bending journey of their own. For the most part the narrative has been abandoned – mate Kurtz is dead – but the abstract sonic road lights up lights up lights up like glow worms and the journey is well worth the footsteps.

Sonically speaking the show combines: found sounds, electronica, noise, field recordings, dialogue, robotic machines, contemporary chamber music and some other audio bizzo. What the hell does audio bizzo mean anyway? That is the question.

Immerse yourself in your own culture.
